Ibn Abbas was asked: Which charity is best?
He replied that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“The best charity is water.”
Have you not heard the words of the people of Hell when they cry out to the people of Paradise, saying: “Pour upon us some water or some of what Allah has provided you”?
In its interpretation, this verse is evidence that giving water is among the best of deeds.

And the Prophet (peace be upon him) also said:
“Any believer who gives water to another believer who is thirsty, Allah will give him to drink on the Day of Resurrection from the sealed pure drink.”
